Carbonite Wins Webware 100 Award
This past May, Carbonite Inc., the leading provider of online backup services for both consumers and home offices, announced its selection by voters as a 2009 Webware 100 award winner at Webware, a CNET site. Carbonite’s set-and-forget online backup service was honoured as a favourite in the Infrastructure and Storage category.
Carbonite was among more than 5,000 companies nominated by Webware readers and one of 300 companies chosen as a finalist. More than 630,000 votes were cast in an online poll, which ultimately selected the Webware 100 winners. Other honorees included in the Webware 100 were Facebook, Twitter and Skype, among others.
David Friend, founder and CEO of Carbonite said, “We are thrilled and honoured to have been voted as a 2009 Webware 100 winner. This designation is a great confirmation of the high value our customers place on the protection Carbonite provides for their personal and professional data. We’ve backed up more than 25 billion files and helped our customers restore more than 2 billion files that otherwise would have been lost forever.”
Carbonite is one of the easiest, safest, and most reliable online backup programs available today. Carbonite also recently added a remote access feature that allows users to access their backed-up files online anytime from any computer. This also allows them to download any files from their backup securely.
