This is the privacy policy of Carbonite Australia Pty Ltd (“Carbonite Australia”). Carbonite Australia understands the importance of protecting your personal information and undertakes to adhere to this privacy policy at all times to ensure your personal information is effectively safeguarded.

What type of personal information we collect

Carbonite Australia undertakes to collect your personal information only where it is necessary for the purposes of marketing our software products, activating both paid and trial subscriptions to the Carbonite software, updating our software, and responding to sales and technical queries.

In most circumstances this information will be limited to your contact details, including but not limited to your name, address, email address, company, company ABN, company address, your job title and phone numbers. Where orders are made online using credit card details, all information is securely transmitted in an encrypted format to Carbonite Australia.

When do we collect personal information

Carbonite Australia collects personal information when you complete one of the following actions:

  • Register your Carbonite subscription (including trial subscription);
  • Make an enquiry about Carbonite software;
  • Apply to become a reseller of Carbonite software;
  • Where you forward information to us in an email or as a hard copy document; and
  • Other circumstances where collecting personal information is reasonable and permitted by the Laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.

Use of cookies

The Carbonite Australia website may from time to time use cookies. A cookie is a piece of text that is saved to your browser by a website to enable that website to save certain information to your machine so that it can later be retrieved. We do not use cookies to collect personal information about you. While you may set your browser to not accept cookies from the Carbonite Australia website, some functions of the website may not be available when cookies are not accepted.

Carbonite Australia appreciates you informing us if you have reason to believe that personal information we hold about you is incorrect, incomplete or not updated.

No Spyware / Adware / Malware

Carbonite software is completely free of spyware and other intrusive, unwanted programs. We have a zero-tolerance policy with regard to breaches of data privacy. Prior to leaving your computer, all data is encrypted using Blowfish and DES encryption, the same level of encryption used by major banks.
