1. How much does it cost? Are there any hidden costs?

There are three different Carbonite plans.

1. One year:      $71.99 per computer

2. Two years:    $129.99 per computer

3. Three years:  $167.99 per computer

These prices are in Australian dollars and include GST.

There aren’t any hidden costs or fees either. You get technical support, unlimited space, and the ability to transfer to a new computer, completely free!

2. What does Carbonite back up?

Carbonite backs up the irreplaceable personal files on your computer. This includes all of your photos, documents, music, and most other files. Carbonite does not back up software programs, temporary files or system files.

3. Is my data secure?

Yes. We double-encrypt your files before they leave your computer and are transmitted to one of our data centers using secure socket layer (SSL) security technology – the same security technology used in online banking and e-commerce transactions. Your files remain encrypted on our servers, which are housed in state-of-the-art data centers that are guarded 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

4. Where is the data held?

Carbonite’s data centres are located in Boston, Massachusetts, America. Your data is stored on highly reliable enterprise servers and redundant disk arrays, which are maintained by a team of specialists and guarded 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

5. How much can I back up?

As much as you want. You have unlimited backup space for the files on your computer.
Carbonite home does not allow you to backup your external hard drives, so your backup space is as much as your computer can hold!
