Carbonite works quietly in the background of your computer looking for new and changed files to back up.  When you’re using your computer, Carbonite goes to sleep so it won’t slow down your computer or internet connection.

Knows what to back up

When you create or edit a file, Carbonite queues it for backup and marks it with a yellow dot. When your computer is not being used, Carbonite starts to automatically back up these files to our remote servers.

Shows which files are safe

Once your files are securely backed up, they are marked with a green dot. You can view all of your backed up, pending, or restored files
from the ‘Carbonite Backup Drive’ on your computer.

Access anytime, anywhere
You can access the files backed up on your computer by Carbonite from anywhere in the world. Simply login to your account and download the file(s). Even available from your iPhone, BlackBerry or Android smartphone.
